Metal mage sculpture specializing in metallurgic magic with a metallic sword, armor, gauntlets, and indestructible shield. A valkyrie miniature, a famous female warrior with angelic wings, weaning Nordic-inspired armor, and wielding a sword that leads other warriors to battle. A steampunk engineer miniature accompanied by a mechanical corgi model equipped with a tesla staff and equipped with atmospheric gadgets like tools and goggles. Finally, you can improve your tabletop army with a fire monk mini which is dressed in robes and wielding a flaming whip. This miniature has an especially dynamic pose in a battle stance, ready to unleash its fiery attack. No matter which Mercenaries you will recruit, these miniatures will make a great addition to your collection.

Are Merfolks included in the Mercenary Bloodfields collection?

The Merfelok miniatures are a separate part of the Mercenaries range that you can use in the same way as all other mercenaries. The main difference between them and other sellswords is the fact that all merfolks have the same trait that synergizes them with each other. Every time a Merfolk spends inspiration, they can transfer that resource to another nearby merfolk unit which means that adding more than one of them to your army can provide you with extra benefits. Of course, you can also use just a single merfolk that fits your army’s playstyle. The three available merfolks are merfolk wizard miniature - with long eel-like hair and wielding a staff to cast powerful spells that are especially effective against enemy support units, merfolk lord model - wearing the crown of corals and with an anchor as a weapon, ready to lead his kind into battle, and merfolk warrior figure - encased in armor, wielding a trident and ready to defend their underwater home with some interesting push mechanics.

Are Warmachines also Mercenaries in Bloodfields?

On top of all characters that you can add to your army as mercenaries, you can also reinforce your strategy with four powerful warmachine models that will aid you in battle by striking from afar. These machines have various applications depending on what your army needs. It is always a powerful strategy to weaken the enemy forces before they approach and the warmachine miniatures can do just that. A ballista miniature is a type of siege weapon with a long, horizontal bow mounted on the stand. The ballista is used to fire heavy bolts or arrows over long distances with great force and it is especially effective against large enemies. A cannon figure has a large and heavy gun mounted on wheels. The cannon fires solid cannonballs over a shorter distance but its destructive power is insurmountable as the cannonball rolls through the battlefield damaging anything in its path. Catapult mini is among the most popular warmachine units and it consists of a medieval siege engine with a long arm that can launch heavy stones over enemy lines. The catapult has the ability to attack multiple enemies that are unlucky enough to find themselves under a template. If the catapult manages to hit an enemy directly the attack ignores cover and applies a crushing full armor penetration. Finally, there is a minigun, with a shorter range, but the power to generate many attack dice that you can divide between enemies under the template. It is a rapid-fire machine gun that is ideal for suppressing fire and enemies will think twice before getting in its range.

Can every army in Bloodfields use Mercenaries?

Mercenaries can be added to every army in Bloodfields, no matter if you are playing elves, dwarves, or undead. During the roster creation on bloodfields.net, after you choose a realm in which you want to create your army, you will see that the Mercenaries are always available at the bottom of the list. The most important thing to know about using mercenaries is that they do not prevent you from obtaining a loyalty bonus for your army. This means that if you are playing an army that consists strictly of one army miniatures and the mercenaries you will still be able to apply your core bonuses. Keep in mind, however, that there is a certain drawback to using these all-around warriors. Once you decide to include them in your roster, your army will generate one less inspire token every round. It does not matter how many mercenaries you include or if they have already fallen in battle, there will always be one less inspire token at your disposal at the beginning of every round. Finally, keep an eye on the Mercenary unit costs. Each of them can provide great strength to your roster and fill a gap that your army otherwise would not be able to fill - like a strong tank, or a charge leader, but this comes at a cost, and Mercenary unit point costs are a bit higher than their regular counterparts.
