What is Steamforge City by Titan Forge?

Steamforge City is one of the realms from the Titan Forge’s tabletop skirmish wargame Bloodfields. Every realm consists of miniatures that share a common theme. Steamforge City is a mountainous land full of natural resources that are sought out by tinkerers, inventors, and engineers to create their experimental devices. Combining technology with magic is often the key to creating a tool that will prove to be useful on the battlefield or to further advance Steamforge City's prosperity. However, the beings living here have to gather in one large megacity, as behind the walls, there are many evil creatures with no sense of compassion or cooperation toward a common goal. Steamforge City is prevalently inhabited by gnomes, dwarves, and humans. The Gnomes are mostly responsible for inventing new devices, dwarves are in charge of building them and the gigantic structures both on the surface and underground, and the humans are responsible for defending this living organism from the threats with their most elite organization being the Vampire Hunters guild.

Which armies are in Steamforge City in Bloodfields?

In the Steamforge City realm, you will find three distinctive Bloodfields armies with unique playstyles. The Vampire Hunters are an elite squad of soldiers equipped with the latest technological advancements to deal with supernatural threats. This army focuses on applying condition tokes to enemies (like weakness, immobilization, or blind) and then striking the disrupted foes with additional bonuses. The Vampire Hunters are also ready to bring the pain, especially to the units with magical capabilities. The Witch Hunt mechanics make them relentlessly vanquish enemy mages. The Metalbeard Dwarves is an army full of heavily armored warriors and engineers. Dwarves excel in ranged combat with their staple unit being an Ancient Forge, which although immobile, provides a global presence on the battlefield. Finally, the Tinkering Gnomes, although feeble by themselves, employ powerful mechs that greatly expand their power. Gnomes have access to tank supports that can bombard the enemy lines and have a thirst for the invention that allows them to share their Inspiration tokens among other nearby gnomes.

What is unique about Steamforge City miniatures?

The miniatures from Steamforge City are a real treat for fans of steampunk and mechanical miniatures. Dwarves and Gnomes include many machines and equipment that make you wonder what technology would look like if you combined it with fantasy magic. The Vampire Hunters show regular people, who when equipped with distinctive weapons become specialized warriors. The whole theme of Steamforge City envisions the life of a harmonized community that shares their passion and effort to come up with great results. Although there are separate castes of inventors, engineers, and guards, each of them is important for the common well-being.

How many miniatures are required to play Steamforge City in Bloodfields?

In order to play Bloodfields with any army, you will need to create a roster on bloodfields.net. The games are typically played with a 200 point limit, which usually translates to 6-7 models on each side. This is no different for Steamforge City. As no army in this realm has any summoners that deploy additional support units to the battlefield during the game, Steamforge City is a perfect choice for those who want to start playing Bloodfields with the least effort. However, even with a small number of units that you will place on the battlefield, you will still find many synergies between your warriors. Steamforge City also has a good choice of models that are compact - easy to assemble and easy to paint, further promoting the idea of an accessible starting realm.
